The Perimenopause Awareness Month (“We“) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect or that you may provide through:

  • Our website located at https://heyperry.com/ (“Website“);

  • Our Perry mobile application (“App“);

  • Our social media pages, including on Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube (“Social Media Pages”); and

  • Email, text, and other electronic communications with us (“Communications”).

Collectively, we refer to the Website, App, Social Media Pages, and Communications as the “Services”).

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy).

*Not Intended for Minors: The Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age. 

Personal Information We Collect 

Personal Information” is information that identifies an individual or relates to an identifiable individual.

The Services collect Personal Information such as:

  • Name;

  • Contact information, including email address;

  • Age, education level, sex, gender identity, race, ethnicity, nationality, and other demographic information;

  • Menopause experience and symptoms;

  • Health condition, medications, and health history; 

  • Other information (including your posts and conversations) you may share in Perry community forums and chats, such as Sister’s Chat; and 

  • User account credentials.

The Services may also collect information from you automatically that does not directly reveal your specific identity or directly relate to an identifiable individual, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and usage data (“Other Information”) (see Automatic Data Collection Technologies below for more detailed information). Unless stated otherwise in this Policy, we may use and disclose Other Information for any purpose. However, when we combine or associate Other Information with Personal Information, or are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information under applicable law, we will use and disclose it for the purposes for which we use and disclose Personal Information as detailed in this Policy.

How We Collect Information

We may collect Personal and Other Information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it through the Services. For example, when you create a user account through our App, reach out via email or contact form, post in one of our forums, or respond to one of our research surveys.

  • Automatically when you use the Services. For example, when you access the App or our Website from your device. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies (see Automatic Data Collection Technologies below for more detailed information).

Automatic Data Collection Technologies   

When you access or use the Services, the Services may use technology to automatically collect:

  • Usage Details. When you access and use the Services, we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the Services, including traffic data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the Services. 

  • Device Information. We may collect information about your computer, mobile device other equipment, and internet connection, including the device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, and mobile network information.

  • Stored Information and Files. The App also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device. This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.

  • Location Information. We may collect the physical location of your device by, for example, using satellite, cell phone tower or WiFi signals.  We may use your device’s physical location to provide you with personalized location-based services and content.  We may also share your device’s physical location, combined with information about what advertisements you viewed and other information we collect, with our marketing partners to enable them to provide you with more personalized content and to study the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.  In some instances, you may be permitted to allow or deny such uses and/or sharing of your device’s location, but if you do, we and/or our marketing partners may not be able to provide you with the applicable personalized services and content.

We may also use these technologies to collect information about your activities over time and across third-party websites, apps, or other online services.

The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:

  • Cookies (or mobile cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your device. There are lots of third-party online resources with more information about how cookies work, such as https://allaboutcookies.org/

  • Web Beacons. Pages of the Services may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit Perry, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain content and verifying system and server integrity).

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use Personal Information to:

  • Provide our Services and its contents, including any interactive or other features available through our Website and App.

  • Provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.

  • Market and promote our Services and offerings, including developing and carrying out marketing communications and serving interest-based and targeted ads. We may also use Personal Information to improve the quality and effectiveness of these activities.

  • Personalize the Services, such as storing information about your preferences and providing you with offers, content and information catered to your preferences.

  • Work toward closing the research gap on women’s health and menopause, including increasing the number and quality of third party products and services available in this space.

  • For analytics purposes, such as analyzing engagement and usage patterns of our Website. For example, we use Jetpack and Google Analytics.

  • Improve the Services.

  • Improve and develop new services and offerings.

  • Enforce our rights and carry out the terms of our agreements.

  • Notify you about changes to or updates to our Services or related policies.

  • Carry out our general business purposes, such as fraud prevention and audits and security monitoring.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose Personal Information that we collect or you provide to:

  • Service Providers. Contractors and service providers we use to support our business, such as our App provider, Website hosting provider, email campaign providers, analytics providers, and survey tool provider.

  • Online Ad Providers and Networks. Social media platform providers and ad providers or networks to allow them to serve you with interest-based and other targeted online ads (on our Services and on third party sites, apps and other properties).   • Sales to Third Parties for Their Own Purposes. We sell information to consumer goods companies, pharmaceutical companies, research firms and organizations, non-profit advocacy groups and other third parties interested in menopause and women’s health so that these third parties can use this information for their own purposes, such as developing new products and offerings, improving existing products and offerings, marketing purposes, research purposes, awareness campaigns,  and/or advocacy purposes. For example, we use tools to analyze the content of posts and conversations to identify common themes, trends, and relevant information related to menopause.  We make efforts to share this Personal Information with these third parties at an aggregated level or with unique identifiers removed – however, this is an imperfect process and Personal Information may be included in the information shared with these third parties.   • (Third Party) Surveys. We may offer you the opportunity to complete surveys, sometimes on behalf of third-parties (and we may receive compensation from third parties for facilitating this sharing) that they use for their own purposes (i.e. marketing, product improvement, etc.), such as consumer goods companies, pharmaceutical companies and other third parties looking for specific information about the menopause experience, women’s health and our users. It is your decision whether you decide to complete these surveys, and completing these surveys is not mandatory to use our Services. If you decide to participate, the information you provide will be shared with the third party conducting the survey. The Personal Information you share may not be anonymized or aggregated [and these third parties may also use this information to market products and services to you.   • We may offer you the opportunity to complete in third-party clinical trials. It is your decision whether you decide to participate, and participation is not mandatory to use our Services. If you do decide to participate, we will share your contact information with the third party sponsor or other coordinator so that they may coordinate with you.

  • You may also choose to make information public by posting or transmitting it to public areas of the Services, such as in community forums and Social Media Pages.

Other Uses and Disclosures

We may also use and disclosure your Personal Information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.

  • To enforce our rights.

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Perry, our users, or others.

  • In connection with a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Perry’s assets.

Third Party Services

This Privacy Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the data collection, use, disclosure, or other practices of any third party, including through any application or content that may link to or be accessible from or through the Website. For example, we are not responsible for the practices of any hosting provider, app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, ad provider or network, operating system provider, wireless service provider, or device manufacturer. 

We generally have no control over these third parties’ practices with respect to the collection and use of information. If you have any questions or concerns about these third party practices, you should refer to the third party’s relevant privacy or other policy or contact the third party directly.

Your Choices

Where possible, we want to provide you with choices regarding the information you provide to us. This section describes mechanisms we provide for you to control certain uses and disclosures of your information. 

  • Cookies. You may be able to set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the Services may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

  • App Location Information. You may be able to choose whether or not to allow the App to collect and use real-time information about your device’s location through the device’s privacy settings.

  • Email Marketing. If you want to opt-out of receiving email marketing communications from us, please use the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email, or reach out to hey@heyperry.com.

  • Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising and Marketing. If you do not want us to share your Personal Information with third parties for their own advertising and marketing purposes, you can opt-out by emailing hey@heyperry.com.

We do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals.

Updating Account Information

You can review and change your user account information by logging into the App and visiting your account profile page. 

You may also send us an email at hey@heyperry.com to request access to, correct, or delete any Personal Information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your Personal Information except by also deleting your user account. We may not be able to accommodate your request if we believe the request would violate any law or legal requirement or where we are not required to comply with the request under applicable law.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Unfortunately, no transmission of information via the internet is completely secure. Although we take steps to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted through our Website.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date this Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Your continued use of the Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.
