I’m 41 and I’ll never forget the day I realized I had truly entered perimenopause. I was in the middle of operating on a patient and all the sudden – it started burning “down there”.
It was like my crotch had caught on fire a little bit.
RANDOMLY! It felt raw.

Because I treat countless women with similar complaints - – I knew exactly this was- THE START OF ESTROGEN DEFICIENCY.
This was PERIMENOPAUSE.
I thought to myself “AHHH HELL NAH- this was NOT going to be my new normal” I had seen too many patients neglect their vulva, their symptoms and live in misery.
I promptly prescribed myself vaginal estrogen and have not felt that sensation since.
